This is my first project in Ms. Heideman's class; it is the Swirling Squares Project. Using different shades of pencil I was able to draw each and every shape. This was difficult as I had to learn the new skill of drawing straight lines without a ruler. This was difficult. Also, I learned a new art element: motif. Motif is when the main subject of the piece is a two or three dimensional configuration repeated in a pattern. With this motif and the new skill of drawing straight lines I was able to create a piece of art unlike any other that I have ever made! My piece swelled and swirled like the raging seas. The triangles came together with incredible flare. In truth I loved this project and would gladly do it again.
